Teaching, parenting, and coaching are all difficult jobs. Depending on the ideals, standards, and expectations that are set, we can shape a child's mindset.  Comment on one or more of these commonly asked questions.  

Do you believe making excuses for children's failures will protect their self esteem?

Chapter 3: The Truth about Ability and Accomplishment

Do you assume success comes from an innate talent or ability? Why are there brilliant individuals who don't reach their potential or realize their ability, yet there are individuals who appear not so brilliant who are highly successful?  How did they do it??

Chapter 2: Inside the Mindsets

Can you think of a child or adult in your life who tends to avoid responsibility by making excuses or blaming others?  Think of a specific example and describe how you might use a mindset to help the individual take responsibility and correct the problems he/she faces.
